News from the maternity ward!
Meet Hershal, born 3/12/2008. His mother is Twisted Sister (bet you can't guess how she got that name) and his father is SOPS.
Hershal has been sold. Congratulations to John and Chris Alexander on their first Highlander.
Buttermilk and Coal Miner have a baby girl! This adorable filly arrived 1 day sooner than expected on 3/31/2008. She hasn't been named yet and I am open to suggestions. She is friendly and sweet and very petite.
Claire and SOPS are the proud parents of a new heifer. Heidi was born 4/19/2008, and is a sister for Snowball. That's Snow in the picture above with Heidi and Claire. Highland cows maintain family groups long term, and even though Claire now nurses only Heidi, she always "looks out" for Snow around the feeder and among the other cows. (In case you are wondering Snowball got her name because she was born in a late spring snowstorm. What else but a snowball would have rolled down off the hill that day?
Buttermilk's baby is growing and changing every day and she still does not have a name. We have lots of great ideas, and still time for a few more! (She has beautiful blue eyes)
Sonnet has a filly, born April 29, 2008 and the BABY NEEDS A NAME!!!!
You can see Sonnet's baby picture on her page. (Go to the Mare page and click on Sonnet's picture). I think this baby is going to be a blue roan like her Mom and her Grandfather (Baron's Benny)
Don't forget, Buttermilk's baby still needs a name. Scroll down to see her. Leave a name for either foal in the Guest Book, but be sure to let me know who it's for.
