This is the current owner, Dana, with his older brother and sister in 1948. He's getting his first "pony ride" - on a Jersey calf!
The Brown Family Farm was established July 12, 1909, when the farm was purchased by Ralph F. Brown, his wife Alice (Knight) and their son Curtis. Ralph and Alice raised Curt on the homestead, and he married "the girl next door", Beatrice Sprague, in 1924. Curtis and Bea raised five children here. Four of those children moved "away" and raised families of their own. One, Dana, stayed and raised his own family on the farm. Dana's grandchildren now frolic in the same woods and fields where his father played in as a boy. This is truly a family farm, and a wonderful place for children to play.
